Interview| Geplaudert mit: Fallen Arise

Fallen Arise ist eine griechische Metal Band aus Athen, die im Oktober mit Adeline ihr aktuellstes Album auf den Markt gebracht hat. Unter Vertrag stehen sie beim Label Rock Of Angels Records, bei welchem auch Gruppen wie Memorain untergebracht sind. Pingvin hat mit den Bandmitgliedern Gus (Keyboard) und Thanos (Schlagzeug) gesprochen. Über Ade-line, Kritiker und die Anspannung zwischen Deutschland und Griechenland.

Wie geht Fallen Arise ein neues Album an und wie habt ihr die Titel für Adeline ausgewählt?

Gus: Ich denke jeder in der Band kreiert Songs individuell. Vielleicht klingt das komisch, da man normalerweise der Meinung sein sollte, dass wir als Gruppe unsere Texte auch gemeinsam schreiben. Aber glaube mir, so fahren wir am besten. 

Wenn ich alles gegeben habe und zufrieden bin, dann stelle ich den anderen meine Ergebnisse vor. Erst dann arbeiten wir gemeinsam daran, dass der Sound vollständig klingt. So ent-stand auch Adeline. 

Was die enthaltenen Titel angeht. Sie basieren auf der Projekt-Idee des Albums. Wir wählten zudem einen kurzen Albumtitel, da die Songs selbst erzählen, zu welchem Teil der Geschichte sie gehören.

Was ist denn die Projekt-Idee hinter Adeline?

Gus: Mit Blick auf das Komponieren, Mastering und den anderen Entstehungsprozessen ist die LP unsere bisher am besten entwickelte Kreation. Sie steht für das, was wir uns gewünscht haben und uns auch noch immer wünschen. Eine symphonic metal Band zu sein.

Lest ihr Rezensionen von Kritikern und Fans nachdem ihr neues Material veröffentlicht habt?

Thanos: Selbstverständlich! Wir haben viele Kritiken in Europa bekommen und sie waren wirklich großartig! Wir sind stets dankbar für Kritiken. Wir respektieren auch jede Meinung. Das hilft uns auch uns und unsere Arbeit weiterzu-entwickeln. Diesen Schritt nehmen wir sehr ernst.

Seid ihr sehr auf den griechischen Markt konzentriert oder habt ihr auch das Ausland im Auge? 

Gus: Wir gehen dorthin, wohin unsere Musik uns führt. Unsere Musik hat noch nie Grenzen gekannt. Überall wo Fallen Arise gehört wird, sind wir vor Ort um zu rocken!

Wie denkt ihr über Deutschland bezüglich der politischen Thematik?

Gus: Wir sind unserem deutschen Publikum dankbar, das unsere Musik über Jahre hinweg angenommen und unterstützt hat. Das ist was für uns zählt. 

Politische Differenzen zwischen unseren Ländern lassen uns keine Vorurteile aufbauen. Es wäre sehr falsch die Musik darunter leiden zu lassen, einem himmlischen Geschenk. Nur weil Repräsentanten unserer Staaten Meinungsverschieden-heiten haben, darf das nicht die Stimmung einer ganzen Bevölkerung reflektieren lassen. 

Fallen Arise macht Musik, um sich selbst auszudrücken und dies auch für alle zu tun, die unsere Musik hören. Und glaube mir, da dies so ist kann es für uns keine Diskriminierung geben. Es gibt nur die Liebe für Musik und die Reisen, auf die sie uns mitnimmt. 

How does Fallen Arise create an album? How did you chose the titles for Adeline?

Gus: I'd say that our composition method is individual for everyone of the band. It may sound a little weird, considering that we are a group of musicians and we're supposed to write our songs all together, but trust me: This way we perform better. 

I personally can't perform any other way, as the best result comes out when I write songs all by myself. When I do my best and most satisfying with my power, then I present it to the others and all together we work on the song to make it sound complete and fulfilling, in a way we feel great about it. 

That's how we worked on Adeline. As for the titles, based on the project character of the album, we tried with a small phrase-title to show every song to which part of the story refers to.

What is the charactere of Adeline in your opinion?

Gus: It's our most mature creation till now, concerning the composition part as long as the mixing - mastering and all production process. It is what we desired and what we still want to be; A symphonic metal band.

Do you read reviews by criticers and fans after releasing new work?

Τhanos: Of course! We have many reviews from Europe and they are awesome in a big way! We always read and appreciate critics, we respect every opinion and that's what helps us through the process of improving ourselves and our work. We take this process very seriously.

Are you still focused on Greek area or are you a lot outside of your country?

Gus: We go where our music can take us. There were never boundaries or any sort of limits to our work. In any place that Fallen Arise music can be heard, that's where Fallen Arise will be to rock!

Are you fine with Germany or are you fraught due to politics?

Gus: No way my friend. On the contrary, we feel grateful to our German audience that has embraced and supported our music all these years. That's what really matters for us. Political differencies and issues among our countries, do not make us prejudice. 

It's a common mistake and very wrong to confuse music, a divine gift, with a corrupted political system and to oppose against a whole nation because a few of its representatives have differerencies with a few of our representatives. Fallen Arise writes music to express themselves and to express all the people that have chosen to listen to our music. 

And believe me, when it comes to this there is no racial discrimination. There is only the love for music and the journey with that music.
